A new project
Goal
To facilitate the continuation of farming in the family from generation to generation
Objectives
To give due recognition to traditional knowledge, wisdom and experiences in farming
To acknowledge the necessity for the use of new technology and management concepts for continued farming for generations to come
To provide opportunities for young and old generations to recognize and respect each others knowledge and experiences in farming
To encourage young sons and daughters in the family to continue family vocation after schooling
Target Group
Framers with children finishing or finished schooling
Methodology
The primary methods for achieving the goal and objectives of this project are:
Organizing and conducting “family workshops” involving prospective farming families to exchange their experiences and ideas in a single forum
Taking up family farming business by children with only 1/5th of the area available to start with and gradually increasing it every year
Provision of opportunities for markets, input supplies, training and support
